Saturday

HOMETIME :) :) :) although I had a really funny week, the hotel really ruined my time, with journey time into Paris being 40 mins and with staying in such a dangerous area where we would get shady people follow us and make comments at 10pm we never felt safe and therefore never felt we could truly make the most out of Paris at night. The hotel was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever been to and it kind of made everything feel a lot worse. The coach journey home was like hell again, 12 hours on a coach is no fun for anyone, especially when tired… but we made it back in once piece.
My view on Paris?.... from what I saw, a nice city when in the correct places however I would not go back until I could afford to do it properly.

Friday

Well… of course the day when we have to up and ready for 8 our alarm doesn’t go off… ten to 8 we wake in which both mine and Rose’s response is &%$£!!!!!
On the coach by 7.58am we feel a sense of achievement and off we go to Premiere Vision. A tiring yet interesting day, we saw a lot of new, up and coming fabrics and designs however I felt like we were there for far too long and it could have been condensed into a few hours.
For dinner we went to Belle de la Ville café again.

Thursday

Firstly making our way to the Pompidou which was an extraordinary building with everything that should be outside, inside!! We then made our way to ‘Free ‘P’ Star’ which opened at 12, so on the way we went in all in interesting shops such as Fleux and classy sex shops selling the most amazing products!... we stumbled across ‘Free ‘P’ Star’ which was a small smelly, yet amazing shop. Everything was 3, 5, or 10 euros so everyone was going mad!!... Next door was a bookshop with some really amazing books but also some very weird and disturbing books, lets just say they were explanatory books about men and what they do in their personal time.
Today was freezing and we were starving so we went to Mcdonalds for lunch and spent an hour chatting and laughing in here, we then decided to go and see the Moulin Rouge.
An amazing place, condom machines placed on the streets as if they were coke machines and the words sex plastered across every single shop window, we had a short and sweet visit as we didn’t feel particularly safe, even at 5pm!
Out for dinner we went and back to the hotel for an early night in preparation of premier vision.

Wednesday

We got rudely awoken by drilling at 7.30am which continued to 9am which was completely unnecessary and annoying.. so of course we all woke up in a foul mood, sporting a slight hangover and headache from the premature unrequested alarm.
We headed to Angelinas, the famous hot chocolate shop that we had been advised to go to, at 8 euro a cup it was an expensive experience, but my god it was also a heavenly one.
Then we mooched around souvenir shops where we purchased postcards of the city and made our way to Collette, single handedly my favourite shop probably ever!! So many amazing retro cameras and amazing books.
After spending a good while in Collette we made our way down the Champs Libre, saw the Ark de Triomphe, played in the Adidas Shop for a good hour on all the games, tests and spent a good half an hour taking free pictures of ourselves and getting them printed!!
We then Visited the Dior shop that Carrie Bradshaw fell into!! On we went to the Yves Saint Laurent museum where we viewed an exhibiting ‘Les Derniers Maharajas’. The beautiful materials from India were rich in colour and mind blowing.
Then we went onto the Museum of Modern art where we viewed pieces by Picasso and other amazing artists. We also went on a ‘ride’ which took you around scary scenes a disturbing ones, one being a prostitute on her hands and knees licking dog poo (Of course these were mechanical models and not real people).
After our day of culture the sun began to shine so we decided to head over to the Eiffel Tower, unfortunately it was closed due to the heavy winds and snow therefore I didn’t get to fulfil my dream of climbing it… maybe next time?
For dinner we went to Bastille where we had a lovely meal but due to such a jam packed day we headed back to the hotel for an early night. However before bed we ran into Morgaine who told us all about this Vintage store called ‘Free ‘P’ Star’ near the Pompidou so we took down the details and planned a visit for tomorrow.

Tuesday

Today we had an organised trip to Versailles, arriving at 11.45 we had two hours to explore the palace… unsure of why we were actually there having no knowledge on the palace I simply went around photographing anything that caught my eye. However when leaving the palace we all asked about the palace and Morgaine (one of our tutors) gave us a brief history lesson on the palace and taught us about why the rooms were laid out as they were and things such as the king wouldn’t actually sleep in the Kings chamber, he would simply be in there to entertain in his ‘show pyjamas’. Morgaine also informed of basic traditions for aristocracy In the 17th century.
After arriving back at the hotel at 3pm we decided to explore some more so we visited Printemps and Galleries Lafayette where we were amazed by the dome in the centre.
We Then went for dinner at the De La Ville café where we had a social with everyone. We decided it would be a good idea to go to the supermarket, get snacks and wine so we headed back to the hotel for a room party. We got drunk laughed and got told off by hotel staff, who told us our next door neighbours were complaining which was a complete lie as our neighbours were in our room with us!!

Monday

Arrive at 1pm to what can only be described as ‘scumvillle’ we napped until 3pm but we were rudely awoken by drilling sounds so we decided to go to the Metro and make our way into Paris.. ohh how unprepared were we.
Arriving at the Metro station, not having a clue what to do we stood around for a good ten minutes like lost little sheeps, luckily metro man as we call him approached us (a man who worked for the metro station) and asked us if we needed help, we did. He told us about the tickets and how to get to Paris…. He also informed us that the area we were in was extremely dangerous and instructed us not to walk around at night, even in a group. BRILLIANT.
We went to Chatelet where he advised us to go, we looked around shops such as H&M, Zara and Sephora. We then decided it was time for dinner and after that we headed back to the hotel.

Sunday/ Monday early hours

12.15am we wait outside Bonnington building for the coach in the freezing cold dreading the next 12 hours approaching us.
The coach arrives and we clammer on in hope of getting a good seat, how silly we were, a good seat on a coach? For 12 hours, non-existent!!! Within a few hours on the coach the whole coach is zonked out, an uncomfortable sleep would be an understatement.
Oohh how could I forget a major part of our journey, this we will refer to as ‘the time we broke down on the way to Paris’. 20 minutes into our journey and the coach overheats and well, stops working!!!.... 1am in the morning and facing the possibility of 1am Having to get out in the freezing cold half asleep and wait for another coach to arrive equals a coach full of unhappy fashion students!!! Thankfully the coach restarted and no movement off the coach was required so onwards we went with our 12 hour mission to Gay Paris.
